Ukraine accuses Russia of violating ceasefire

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has accused Russia of violating a newly introduced ceasefire and continuing attacks on civilian targets.

Axar.az reports, citing MFA of Ukraine's X account, a ceasefire introduced at midnight between May 5 and 6 was immediately breached by Russian forces, which continued strikes across several regions.

"In the Dnipro region, Russia attacked four districts, killing 4 people and injuring 19. In the Sumy region, Russian strikes killed one person and wounded another. In the Kharkiv region, two people were injured as a result of Russian attack," the statement reads.

The ministry also said that overnight Russia launched 108 drones and 3 missiles targeting multiple regions across Ukraine.

"Russia’s talk of a “ceasefire” on May 9 is not about diplomacy. Putin cares only about military parades," the statement added.
