American player Salehi-Rad called up to Iran squad

American basketball player Ryan Salehi-Rad has been called up to the Iran national team training camp.

Axar.az reports, citing Iranian media, the decision was made by Iran men's national basketball team head coach Sotiris Manolopoulos.

Salehi-Rad, a US citizen, previously played for university and college teams in the United States.

He is expected to represent Iran in the postponed 2027 FIBA World Cup qualifying matches against Jordan and Syria.
