Two killed in Ukrainian drone strike on Syzran -

Two people were killed in a Ukrainian drone attack overnight on May 21 targeting the town of Syzran in Russia’s Samara region along the Volga River.

Axar.az reports that the information was announced by Samara Region Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev on his Telegram account.

A major oil refinery is located in Syzran, around 1,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. Fedorishchev did not mention whether any infrastructure had been damaged.

It should be noted that the Syzran oil refinery has repeatedly come under Ukrainian attacks. Following the most recent strike in December last year, the refinery suspended operations.

The plant’s annual oil processing capacity is estimated at 7–9 million tons.
