France bans Ben-Gvir over flotilla incident

France has banned Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir from entering the country over his actions toward French and European activists aboard the Global Sumud flotilla.

Axar.az reports that this information was released by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noel Barrot on his X account.

“As of today, Itamar Ben-Gvir is banned from entering French territory.

This decision follows his unacceptable actions toward French and European citizens who were passengers aboard the Global Sumud flotilla.

We do not support the flotilla’s initiative, which has produced no useful effect and has placed an additional burden on diplomatic and consular services, whose professionalism and dedication I commend.

However, we cannot tolerate French citizens being threatened, intimidated, or subjected to violence, especially by a public official," the statement reads.

It should be noted that the Israeli Navy intercepted ships belonging to the Sumud flotilla, which was heading to Gaza with humanitarian aid. Following the operation, National Security Minister Ben-Gvir shared footage showing detained activists being humiliated.
