Naval drone detonates in Romania’s Constanta Port -

A powerful explosion occurred on Thursday morning at Romania’s Port of Constanta after a naval drone previously discovered in the area detonated.

Axar.az reports that Romanian officials said the device was a “type of naval drone similar to those used in the war in Ukraine,” stressing that it did not belong to the Romanian Armed Forces and was not linked to recent military exercises in the Black Sea region.

The unmanned maritime drone had been found earlier in the civilian section of the port. Security forces from the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI), the Coast Guard, and the Ministry of Defence had already secured and cordoned off the area.
