Four bodies found after St. Petersburg warehouse fire

A fire broke out at a production hangar in St. Petersburg’s Kalininsky District, Russia.

Axar.az reports that after clearing the debris, rescuers discovered the bodies of four people, while two others were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity.

The blaze erupted on the evening of June 8 in a 30-by-50-meter hangar near Finland Station, adjacent to the Arsenal plant. The fire quickly spread, engulfing an area of about 400 square meters.

A total of 64 emergency responders and 15 pieces of equipment from Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry were deployed to extinguish the blaze.

Authorities are currently working to identify the victims. According to the Main Investigative Directorate of Russia’s Investigative Committee for St. Petersburg, one of those killed was the owner of a chemical manufacturing company that owned the destroyed hangar.
