Three explosions hit gas pipeline in Dagestan -

Three explosions have occurred on a main gas pipeline in Kizilyurt, Russia’s Dagestan region.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, Initial reports say a rupture occurred on a gas pipeline, causing a high-pressure gas leak that continues to burn, sending a large column of flames into the air above the city.

The fire’s flare height was reported to reach around 15 meters.

The incident took place between the settlements of Bavtugay and Gelbakh in the Kizilyurt district on the Mozdok–Kazimagomed gas pipeline. Sections of the pipeline between 718 km and 661 km have been shut down.

More than 100 residents were evacuated, and nearby streets were closed as a safety measure.

A response team of 25 personnel and seven units of equipment has been deployed to deal with the aftermath.

No casualties or injuries have been reported.
