Russian air defences down dozens of drones over Moscow -

A mass drone attack was carried out on Moscow early this morning.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that strikes hit an oil refinery located in the Kapotnya district of Moscow. The attack caused a fire in the ELOU-AVT-6 primary oil processing unit.

The refinery, located around 15 km from the Kremlin, has an annual processing capacity of 11–12 million tons of crude oil.

It is said to cover more than one-third of Moscow’s fuel needs, supply aviation fuel to the capital’s airports, and produce around 30 types of petroleum products.

According to Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, more than 60 drones have been shot down over the city since early morning.

Air defense systems were also activated in the Moscow region cities of Pavlovsky Posad, Ramenskoye, and Zhukovsky.

Operations at Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo, and Zhukovsky airports have been suspended.
