Moldovan Prime Minister announces resignation

Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu has announced his resignation.

Axar.az reports that Munteanu made the announcement in a post on X.

"Today, my term as Prime Minister comes to an end. I accepted the responsibility of serving as Prime Minister with a deep sense of duty and the firm conviction that I could help bring about positive change," he said.

Munteanu emphasized that he decided to step down after realizing he could no longer carry out his mandate in line with his principles and convictions.

He thanked his fellow ministers, their teams, and all those who had worked with professionalism and in good faith during his tenure.

The outgoing prime minister also said he would continue serving Moldova regardless of his future position.

"I will continue to serve my country from whatever position I may hold. I believe that our duty to our country is not defined by the office we hold, but by the commitment we continue to uphold," Munteanu added.
