Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran.
Axar.az reports, citing Armenian media, Nikol Pashinyan once again expressed condolences over the death of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Khamenei, stressing that Armenia shares the grief of the Iranian people.
President Pezeshkian thanked Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for coming to Tehran to participate in the official farewell ceremony for Ali Khamenei. He noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran highly values the Armenian government’s position toward Iran during a difficult period, as well as the humanitarian assistance provided.
President Pezeshkian also congratulated Nikol Pashinyan on his victory in the parliamentary elections and expressed confidence that Armenia–Iran bilateral relations will continue to develop and strengthen steadily.
The sides also exchanged views on regional issues, emphasizing the importance of consistent steps aimed at strengthening peace, stability, and regional cooperation.
The Prime Minister of Armenia departed for Iran on July 3 to attend the official farewell ceremony for the late Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei.
