Large-scale Russian drone attacks becoming less frequent

Russia has recently reduced the number of Shahed drones used in attacks against Ukraine, a trend that may reflect the growing effectiveness of Ukrainian air defenses.

Axar.az reports, citing OSINT researcher Cyrus X account, that the number of Russian UAVs is decreasing.

"Number of Russian attack UAV down. Ukrainian counter offensive are verly likely effective,” Cyrus said.

The report noted that while the overall number of drones used has fallen, Ukraine’s interception rate has also declined in recent weeks.

According to Cyrus, this is likely because Russia is increasingly deploying jet-powered versions of the Shahed drone, which remain relatively rare but are significantly more difficult to intercept.

"Even large-scale attacks are not that large anymore, and the time between each one is now longer than a fortnight. Though the interception ratio has decreased. It is likely that Russia launched fewer, but more sophisticated or jet-powered attack UAVs," Cyrus wrote.

He also observed that large-scale Russian drone attacks have become less frequent, with intervals between major strikes now exceeding two weeks.
