IDF: Hamas training commander killed in Gaza strike

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it killed Fadi Falah Ashour Daghmash, a commander in the training department of Hamas' military wing, during an overnight airstrike in the northern Gaza Strip.

Axar.az reports that the IDF announced the operation on its X account.

According to the Israeli military, Daghmash oversaw various training programs, including those for Hamas' Nukhba Force in the years leading up to the October 7 attack.

The IDF also alleged that he helped direct combat operations against Israeli forces in Gaza and had recently been involved in efforts to rebuild Hamas' operational capabilities and advance additional militant plans.

The Israeli military said Daghmash posed a threat to its forces operating in Gaza and was killed in an airstrike.

The IDF added that troops under its Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with existing agreements and will continue operations to eliminate what it described as immediate threats.
