Russia restricts Armenian dairy imports

Russia's Rosselkhoznadzor will impose restrictions on the import of dairy products from Armenia starting July 27, according to a statement published on the agency's website.

Axar.az reports the agency said that between July 14 and 21, its specialists inspected small dairy processing enterprises in Armenia that had previously been approved under guarantees provided by the country's veterinary service and had been exporting their products to Russia.

The inspections revealed violations related to the product traceability system, the issuance of veterinary certification documents, laboratory testing procedures, risk management systems, and compliance with production control programs.

"Given the identified violations, Rosselkhoznadzor has taken measures to prevent the introduction of particularly dangerous infectious diseases into Russia and the sale of unsafe dairy products on the domestic market," the statement said.
