Russian forces launched a ballistic missile attack on Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, during the daytime.
Axar.az reports, citing UNIAN, that the Ukrainian Air Force said several high-speed targets were heading toward the capital. Explosions were heard in the city shortly afterward.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said air defense systems were operating and urged residents to remain in shelters.
According to monitoring groups, Russia launched at least 10 ballistic missiles, including Zircon missiles, toward Kyiv.
No official information on the extent of the damage or casualties was initially released.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky later said that six people were killed and dozens more were injured in the Russian missile strike on the Kyiv region, according to a post on his Telegram channel.

The death toll from the missile strike on the Kyiv region has risen to 10, with nearly 100 people injured.
According to Ukraine's Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko said Russia had launched another missile attack on the Kyiv region.
"Russia has once again launched a missile strike on the Kyiv region. Ten people have been killed, and nearly 100 others have sustained injuries of varying severity. The information is being updated," the statement said.
According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the strike targeted a private training ground where events involving representatives of Ukraine's defense industry were being held.
The attack was carried out using three ballistic missiles, one of which was intercepted by Ukrainian air defenses.
