Russia strikes foreign cargo ship near Odesa twice, 7 injured

On Saturday, July 25, the Russian military twice attacked a foreign civilian cargo ship with drones near Odesa, injuring at least seven people.

Axar.az reports that according to Odesa Regional Military Administration head Oleh Kiper, Russia continues to target civilian shipping in the Black Sea.

"Enemy drones struck a civilian merchant vessel flying the Palau flag and carrying a cargo of corn on two occasions. The first strike damaged the upper deck and the cargo hold. The second attack caused a fire in the ship's superstructure," Kiper said.

According to preliminary information, seven people were injured. The crew and a harbor pilot were evacuated to shore by the Ukrainian Navy. The fate of two other people remains unknown.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
