Iran summons Ukrainian diplomat over attack on vessel

Ukraine's chargé d'affaires in Tehran has been summoned to Iran's Foreign Ministry.

Axar.az reports, citing Iranian media, that the diplomat was called in following Ukraine's attack on an Iranian vessel in the Caspian Sea.

Iran's Foreign Ministry handed the diplomat a formal protest note.

It should be noted that on Friday, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said it had carried out strikes against Russian air defense systems, a military vessel, and several facilities in the Caspian Sea.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also said that Ukrainian forces had struck vessels used to transport military cargo from Iran.
