Netanyahu says Rubio reaffirmed US action against ICC

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has reaffirmed Washington's intention to take action against the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Axar.az reports, that Netanyahu said he spoke with Rubio on Saturday, during which the U.S. secretary of state reiterated America's position on the ICC.

"I spoke yesterday with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and he once again confirmed to me the United States' intention to act against the International Criminal Court.

The ICC endangers justice around the world while also threatening the right of democratic, sovereign states to exercise their sovereignty," he said.

It should be noted that the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu in 2024 over alleged crimes committed during the war in Gaza. One of the key figures behind the decision, ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan, was later suspended from his duties following allegations of sexual misconduct involving an ICC staff member.
