Ukraine’s ‘reckless action’ will not go unanswered

Ukraine’s “reckless action” would not go unanswered, the Iranian deputy parliament speaker said on Sunday.

Axar.az reports, citing Iran International, Ali Nikzad’s comments followed Iran’s summoning of Ukraine's chargé d'affaires in Tehran after accusing Kyiv of attacking an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea.

“Iran will always exercise its legal right to defend its territorial integrity. Any location used as a launching point for aggression against our country and territory will undoubtedly be considered a legitimate target for our armed forces, and the Ukrainian government’s reckless action will not go unanswered,” the lawmaker said.

He also warned Ukraine, Britain and Bulgaria against supporting US military actions, saying any location used to launch attacks on Iran would be considered a legitimate target.

He added that rules governing the Strait of Hormuz would not return to their pre-war form and called on US forces to leave the region.
