Ukraine hits Lukoil refinery in Russia's Perm -

The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has struck infrastructure at the Perm Oil Refinery (Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez), located over 1,500 km from Ukraine, on 29 July.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainska Pravda, that a fire broke out at the refinery following a drone strike. Early reports indicate that the primary oil-refining unit – one of the facility's key technological assets – is ablaze.

The SSU notes that striking Russian refineries is of strategic significance, as they produce fuel for military equipment, aircraft and the logistics operations of the occupation forces.

Furthermore, the oil refining industry remains one of Russia's main sources of budget revenue, which funds the war against Ukraine.
