Expert: Ukraine won’t produce Patriot missiles

Ukraine will never produce PAC-3 missiles for Patriot air defense systems. Even if licenses are granted, the missiles will be assembled in Germany rather than Ukraine.

Axar.az reports that military analyst Dmytro Sniehirov made the remarks during an interview with Ukrainian media.

“We will not. This was clear from the very beginning. The main requirement of the US side, even if it were to transfer licenses, is that production take place on the territory of Germany, not Ukraine. This is also due to the security factor, namely the possibility of Russia destroying production facilities with the same air-launched ballistic strike weapons,” he said.

According to the analyst, Ukraine also lacks the necessary production base and sufficient skilled workforce. He added that Washington was concerned that PAC-3 technical documentation could reach Russian intelligence services through corrupt officials.

"The US, particularly Trump, has stated that there are concerns about the possibility of information leaks, namely PAC-3 documentation being passed to the Russian side,” Sniehirov said.
