Tehran to host five-way Caspian meeting

A five-way meeting involving representatives of the Caspian littoral states will be held in Tehran, the capital of Iran.

Axar.az reports, citing local media, that Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei made the announcement.

According to him, the decline in the water level of the Caspian Sea will be one of the main topics of discussion at the meeting, which will be held in late September or early October:

“The main causes of the problem are climate change, increased evaporation and reduced water levels in the rivers flowing into the Caspian Sea.”
