Russia detained Azerbaijani diaspora leader -

One of the leaders of the Azerbaijani diaspora has been detained in Russia’s Perm region.

Axar.az informs, citing Russian media, that the detained man was identified as Ruslan Mammadov. He is involved in the fruit and vegetable trade in Russia.

Mammadov was deported from Russia in 2018 but later changed his name, returned to the country and started a business.

He offered money to security officials to have a criminal case against a Perm resident dropped. A criminal case was opened against him for facilitating bribery.

Ruslan Mammadov is currently in custody.
