The Sudanese army and allied forces have recaptured 11 areas in North Kordofan state following heavy fighting with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Axar.az reports, citing Sudan Tribune, that the army said operations would continue until state authority is restored and RSF forces are cleared from the area. Its troops were also pursuing retreating RSF fighters toward the Darfur border.
A local emergency response group reported that retreating RSF fighters looted the market in Al-Mazroub and assaulted residents before leaving the area.
The offensive is aimed at advancing toward Darfur along the Darb al-Arbaeen, an historic route that has been used as a supply corridor between Darfur and central Sudan.
