A book titled Perished Civilization – An Overlooked Catastrophe by a historian operating under the pseudonym “Kuzari” has been published in Ukraine. It is the first country where the research has been released in printed form in the Ukrainian language.

Axar.az informs, citing Rеport, that the book’s materials had previously been presented on the project’s platform.

The publishing group plans to release the book in Poland, Germany, the Baltic states, Moldova, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

The study focuses on the history of the ancestors of the Azerbaijani people and Azerbaijanis in the territory of present-day Armenia, particularly in the Erivan Governorate and Zangezur.

The book examines the history of cities and villages in the region, the role of the Azerbaijani population in shaping their cultural identity, as well as subsequent demographic changes, violence, expulsions and deportations.

According to the author, particular attention is paid to preserved cultural heritage sites that, in the author’s view, testify to the Turkic past of these territories, including mosques, cemeteries, fortresses and monuments.

The author identifies the extensive evidence base as one of the study’s key features. A total of 1,765 sources have been systematized, including archival documents, works by Armenian authors, official Russian documents from the pre-revolutionary and Soviet periods, French diplomatic materials and other sources.

At the same time, the author emphasized that Azerbaijani and Turkish historiography was not used as the primary source base for the research.

The printed edition is also supplemented with multimedia materials, including field photographs, video footage, interviews with witnesses and a chronology of events from the 14th to the 20th centuries.
