US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has accused European countries of financing Russia’s war effort by continuing to purchase Russian energy and other products.

Axar.az reports that Bessent made the remarks in an interview with NBC News.

“The Europeans have given Russia and Vladimir Putin more money than they have given the Ukrainians. They continue to gorge on Russian energy. The Europeans are financing the Russian war machine,” he said.

Bessent added that the United States imports $4 billion worth of Russian products, including $1.8 billion worth of fertilizers, while European countries import more than ten times that amount.
