One person was killed and eight others were wounded in an attack targeting the King Fahd International Airport in eastern Saudi Arabia’s Dammam, the Kingdom’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said in a statement on Thursday.

Axar.az informs, citing Al Arabiya, the attack on the airport took place on Wednesday evening, the statement said.

One resident was killed and eight other people were wounded, ranging from minor to critical wounds, the GACA noted.

Separately, the spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition, Maj. Gen. Turki al-Malki, had said in a post on X on Thursday that four drones were intercepted and destroyed in the Eastern Region.
