The UAE condemned the attack on the embassy

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) strongly condemned the terrorist act committed in the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Iran.

Axar.az reports that this was stated in the statement of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

"The UAE strongly condemns these criminal acts and rejects all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at undermining security and stability," the statement said.

The UAE MFA emphasized that it is necessary to ensure the protection of diplomatic missions in accordance with the rules and regulations governing diplomatic work.

The ministry also expressed deep condolences to the Republic of Azerbaijan and its people, including the relatives of the security officer who lost his life, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

It should be recalled that on January 27, at around 8:30 am Baku time, there was a terrorist attack on the embassy of Azerbaijan in Iran. The person who perpetrated the terror attacked the security post with a Kalashnikov automatic weapon and killed the head of the security service, Orkhan Asgarov. Two security guards of the embassy were also injured while preventing the attack. The condition of the injured is satisfactory.

The perpetrator of the terrorist attack was detained by an employee of the Azerbaijani embassy.
