The expansion of the US military presence in Greece creates risks for the state.

Axar.az reports that the Communist Party of Greece issued a statement about this.

"The creation of new military bases on the Greek islands and the expansion of the US military presence in the country raises the issue of security. This shows the dangerous development of the situation on an indescribable scale, directed against both the Greek people and other residents of the region, as well as the sovereign rights of our country," the statement said.

It was reported that the government is conducting a secret dialogue with the United States regarding military bases and is already calling the country's islands "NATO territory":

"It is necessary to strengthen the struggle for the cancellation of the dangerous American-Greek agreements, to close the foreign military bases in the country, to remove Greece from the imperialist alliances and their criminal plans."
