There is a disagreement between the US State Department and the Pentagon regarding the supply of arms to Ukraine.

The State Department is reportedly in favour of boosting arms supplies, but the Pentagon is taking a more cautious stance:

"The State Department believes that the United States has taken on certain obligations and must comply with them by actively supporting Ukraine at the military and diplomatic level, while the Pentagon prefers to continue helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine, provided that Washington does not get involved in a direct military conflict with Moscow."
