Belgium allocated 250,000 euros (459,533 AZN) to Azerbaijan to support demining activities in the liberated territories.
Axar.az reports that Gaya Mammadov, head of the Main Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, noted this in his account X.
"Mines are the main obstacle to the safe return of former IDPs to liberated areas. This assistance is a symbol of human solidarity and a positive step in our bilateral relations," the diplomat wrote.
It should be noted that on July 4-5, the delegation led by the Chairman of the Management Board of the Demining Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) Vugar Suleymanov is on a business trip to the Kingdom of Belgium.
Within the framework of the visit, it is planned to bring to the attention of the international community the scale of the current landmine problem in Azerbaijan, to inform about the humanitarian demining activities carried out in the liberated areas, as well as to participate in a number of events and meetings in order to expand international cooperation and support in this field.
