To stop the Ukrainian army in Kursk region, Russia needs between 30,000 and 50,000 soldiers, and significantly more resources will be required for a counterattack.

Axar.az reports that Ukrainian military-political analyst Alexander Kovalenko made this statement.

Kovalenko recalled that during the three-month offensive in Kharkiv region, Russia was able to capture only 184 square kilometers of territory, while increasing its troop deployment in that area from 35,000 to 55,000:

"How many resources do Russian troops need to stop the Ukrainian assault in Kursk region and then reclaim the more than 1,100 square kilometers of territory currently held by Ukraine? Based on everything said, I have a feeling that the New Year will be celebrated in Sukhodolsk with Ukrainian time and greetings from the Ukrainian President."
