On September 18-19, the 3rd meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) chairpersons of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held in Turkistan, the spiritual capital of the Turkic world, in Kazakhstan.
Axar.az reports that the meeting was attended by Ramil Usubov, Secretary of the Security Council of Azerbaijan; Gizat Nurdauletov, Secretary of the Security Council of Kazakhstan; Marat Imankulov, Secretary of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic; Seyfullah Hacımüftüoğlu, Secretary-General of Turkiye's National Security Council; Viktor Makhmudov, Secretary of the Security Council of Uzbekistan; and the delegation from the OTS Secretariat led by Deputy Secretary-General Omar Kojaman.
During the meeting, the parties focused on the current security environment and events occurring in the OTS region as well as globally. They discussed existing security threats and challenges targeting OTS countries, as well as the potential impacts of certain regional and global events and trends on the Turkiye region.
The chairpersons of the Security Councils paid special attention to transportation security and the development of transportation and logistics infrastructure along the Middle Corridor.
The meeting also involved a thorough discussion on strengthening mechanisms within the OTS framework for the development of existing cooperation in the field of security through concrete projects and programs.
