The likelihood of any Brazilian efforts to stop Russia's war against Ukraine succeeding is low.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Andrei Melnik, Ukraine's ambassador to Brazil.

He confirmed that countries like India, China, and Brazil are close to Russia, noting that their rhetoric regarding Ukraine differs. Specifically, he mentioned that the "Brazil-China peace plan" lacks a provision on the inviolability of borders:

"This approach is certainly a significant problem for us. We have had very candid discussions with senior Brazilian diplomats on this topic. The response was that the plan does not mention territorial integrity among its six points."

He emphasized that the "China-Brazil plan" was written more by the Chinese than by Brazilians:

"I recently met with the head of one of the largest think tanks in this country, and he openly stated that Brazil's contribution to this plan is less than 20%."
