Moscow and Pyongyang's decision is a step toward turning this conflict into a world war.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Yevgeny Dikiy, the former commander of the "Aydar" battalion, while commenting on the training of several thousand North Korean soldiers on Russian territory.

He noted that North Korea has effectively joined the war against Ukraine on Russia's side. However, at this stage, North Korea's involvement is limited—its most significant impact is supplying shells to the Russian invading army.

"This supply has saved Russia from a shell shortage in 2023. To date, at least 3 million North Korean shells have been delivered. Without them, the battlefield would look entirely different. They allow Russia to maintain a firepower advantage in artillery. Today, the number of shells compared to Ukraine is approximately five times greater. This is entirely thanks to Comrade Kim Jong Un," he said.

It has been reported that several thousand North Korean soldiers are training on Russian territory, and there are claims that this force will be deployed to the frontlines in Ukraine or to Russian border areas by the end of 2024.
