Over a million people in South Sudan have been impacted by widespread flooding, according to the UN's humanitarian organization, Ocha.

Axar.az reports that more than a quarter of those affected, specially many from northern regions, have been displaced from their homes due to rising waters.

Ocha reported that the displaced individuals are seeking refuge on higher ground, but the heavy rains have made it increasingly challenging to deliver aid to those in need.

This is one of the most severe flood seasons South Sudan, a nation with a population exceeding 11 million, has faced in recent decades.
