The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received a delegation led by Michael Carpenter, the U.S. President's Special Assistant and Director for Europe at the National Security Council.

Axar.az reports that this was reported by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

It was noted that the meeting discussed bilateral and regional issues between Azerbaijan and the U.S., as well as the current status and prospects of the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The importance of increasing efforts to create a positive dynamic in bilateral relations and to determine future cooperation prospects between Azerbaijan and the U.S. was emphasized.

During the meeting, the minister informed the counterpart about the processes regarding normalization and peace agreements between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the recent meeting in Istanbul. Despite significant progress in peace talks, it was emphasized that the most serious obstacle to signing a final peace agreement remains the territorial claims against Azerbaijan in several legal and political documents, primarily stemming from the Armenian Constitution.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional issues of mutual interest.
