Japan and the United States began ten days of joint military exercises on Wednesday, involving tens of thousands of personnel, shortly after China conducted large-scale drills around Taiwan.
Axar.az reports that , citing Al Arabia, the military buildup by China and the strengthening defense ties between Washington and its allies have heightened concerns about potential conflicts over Taiwan, which Beijing claims as its own.
The "Keen Sword" exercises will feature 45,000 Japanese and U.S. troops, 40 vessels, and 370 aircraft, along with contributions from Australia and Canada, according to the Japanese Joint Staff.
The drills, held every two years, will take place across Japan, including at the military bases of both countries, through November 1.
