An explosion occurred near the Quetta railway station, located in Baluchistan province in the south-west of Pakistan.
Axar.az reports that at least 24 people died and 44 were injured as a result of the incident.
Inspector General of Balochistan Police Muzzam Ja Ansari said that the target of the explosion was the soldiers of the ground forces school. According to him, the condition of most of the injured is serious.
The commander-in-chief of the police, Muhammad Baloch, noted that the explosion is believed to have been committed by a terrorist-kamikaze, and an investigation is underway.
"The explosion happened at the railway station, on the eve of the departure of the train to Peshawar," Balok said.
The Balochistan Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the blast.
It should be noted that the Balochistan Liberation Army is an armed organization established in Afghanistan in 2000. The organization advocates Baloch self-determination and the separation of Balochistan from Pakistan.
