Despite the objections raised by Armenia, the International Court of Justice decided to consider the merits of Azerbaijan's claim against Armenia, including the facts related to mines.

Axar.az reports that Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov wrote about this on page X.

He noted that the International Court of Justice confirmed the continuation of its case against Armenia for ethnic cleansing and other acts of racial discrimination during decades of occupation of internationally recognized territories of Azerbaijan. The court also rejected Armenia's attempt to exclude from the court's jurisdiction the claims related to minefields and the placement of explosive devices.

"It is vital to ensure justice for the victims of Armenia's mine campaigns, whose number continues to grow tragically to this day. Azerbaijan is confident that the evidence examined by the Court will show that no violations of international law have been committed," the deputy minister wrote.

It should be noted that today the ICJ was expected to announce the decision regarding the claims of Azerbaijan and Armenia against each other at 18:00 (Baku time).
