The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Colombia Luis Gilberto Muriyo within the framework of the Climate Action Summit of World Leaders of the 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).

Axar.az was informed about this by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

At the meeting, prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Colombia, our country's COP29 presidency, current initiatives and priorities were discussed.

He pointed out that bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Colombia, including within international organizations such as the UN and the Non-Aligned Movement, is a source of satisfaction.

The importance of using the mechanism of political consultations in order to evaluate and discuss the existing opportunities for further expansion of relations between the two countries was emphasized.

Giving detailed information about our country's COP29 chairmanship, J. Bayramov noted that our chairmanship process has expanded our cooperation opportunities in the field of combating climate change with many countries, including Colombia.

During the meeting, opinions were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
