After the collapse of Chancellor Olaf Scholz's center-left coalition, the country will hold extraordinary general elections on February 23.

Axar.az reports that DPA and AFP reported on this with reference to sources in the parliament.

The parliamentary leaders of the Social Democratic Party and the conservative Christian Democratic Union reportedly agreed on the date on Tuesday. Scholz is expected to schedule a vote of confidence in the Bundestag on December 16 for the elections to take place.
