Iraq hands over 1,905 Syrian soldiers to new government - Photo

When the Bashar al-Assad regime was overthrown, 1,905 soldiers of the Syrian regime who fled to Iraq were handed over to the new government.

Axar.az reports that photos of the soldiers being transferred to the new government have been shared on social media.

According to the Iraqi Security Media Network's X account, the soldiers were handed over at the Al-Qaim border crossing between the two countries.

It was announced that the soldiers would be reunited with their families.

Iraq's Ministry of Defense also stated that the weapons taken from the Syrian soldiers would be handed over to the new Syrian government.
