Negotiations are underway for the exchange of the young Italian journalist Cecilia Salana, detained in Tehran, with Mohammad Abedini Nacafabadi, who is in custody in Milan.

Axar.az reports that this information was provided by Italy’s “La Repubblica” newspaper.

It is reported that the International Federation of Journalists has demanded the immediate release of Cecilia Salana.

It was noted that three days after Mohammad Nacafabadi’s arrest at Milan Airport, Cecilia was detained in Tehran, bringing up once again the Islamic Republic’s policy of taking foreign nationals hostage for exchange.
