The President of Kazakhstan Gasim-Jomart Tokayev awarded a group of citizens of Kazakhstan who showed courage, professionalism, and civic responsibility during the rescue of the passengers of the AZAL plane that crashed in the Mangistau region.

Axar.az informs that among those awarded are employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, medical workers, police officers, employees of the Mangistau Regional Electric Network Company and Aktau International Airport.

It should be noted that on December 25, the AZAL plane carrying out the Baku-Grozny flight was shot down by Russian air defense systems in the sky of Grozny and was seriously damaged. The plane headed for Aktau crashed near the Aktau airport because it was not allowed to land. As a result of the accident, 38 of the 67 people on board died, and 29 survived.
