After American billionaire Elon Musk openly supported the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD), Tesla car sales in the country have dropped significantly.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by the German Motor Transport Authority.

The report states that in Germany, Europe's largest car market, only 1,277 Tesla cars were sold in January, which is 60 percent less than the same period a year earlier. The same situation was observed in the European Union and the United Kingdom. In January, Tesla sales decreased by 63 percent in France and 12 percent in the United Kingdom.

It should be noted that Elon Musk's call for support for the far-right AfD on the eve of the federal parliamentary elections in Germany on February 23 caused great dissatisfaction not only in this country but also in the European Union.
