A competition will be announced in Kyrgyzstan to change the national anthem's lyrics and music.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by the Deputy Minister of Culture of Kyrgyzstan, Timurlan Ajımaliyev, during the first meeting of the commission for changing the anthem.

"The goal is to create a piece that reflects the people's historical heritage, culture, and unity. Composers, poets, musicians, and creative teams are invited to participate," he noted.

It is worth mentioning that the proposal to change the anthem was made by the Speaker of Parliament, Nurlanbek Shakiev. N. Shakiev has stated that the new anthem should be adopted by April 2025. An interdepartmental commission has been created to prepare three versions of the anthem and submit them to the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament).
