US President Donald Trump is ready to toughen sanctions against Russia.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by the U.S. President’s Special Envoy to Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg.

The US sanctions against the Russian energy sector are nominally twice as high, but there is an opportunity to strengthen them, he added.

"It is indeed possible to strengthen sanctions, especially the latter (on oil production and exports - Ed.)," Kellogg said.
