We have said this many times, everywhere: Despite all the freedom of action and the lack of censorship, the media - it seems to me, given the pain and sorrow that the peoples of this region have already experienced - must act responsibly, work in favor of a peaceful settlement of the situation, and not try to prevent it.
Axar.az reports that Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said these words in response to a question from an Armenian journalist.
“I understand very well, and we are sometimes criticized for the fact that Russian media outlets broadcast or present their point of view or the opinions of experts - while these opinions are not shared by the country and society. We always call on our mass media to approach particularly sensitive issues that are fraught with conflict potential responsibly. And in the situation you mentioned, I reaffirm both our position and our call,” Zakharova said.
It should be noted that the Armenian journalist tried to find out Russia's position on this, considering the statements of the Azerbaijani media and political elite, who reminded that Zangezur and other territories were given to Armenia in 1920 and stated that they would never forget it, as a territorial claim to Zangezur and Armenia in general. Zakharova, however, did not answer what the Armenian journalist "desired".
