A two-night, four-hour documentary about Princess Diana will air on ABC this August to mark the 20th anniversary of her death.

Axar.az reports citing Rolling Stones.

The documentary, a collaboration between ABC and People, will feature interviews with close associates and Diana experts as well as archival footage, the Hollywood Reporter writes.

The special will also examine her enduring legacy two decades after she died in a August 31st, 1997 car crash at the age of 36. An air date for the special has not yet been announced.

"Princess Diana has appeared on the cover of People 57 times – more than anyone in the history of the [magazine]," People editor in chief Jess Cagle said in a statement. "Our audience has an insatiable appetite for news about the royal family; in fact, they are just as fascinated today as they were when Lady Diana was first introduced to the world back in 1981."

ABC has been delving more into long-form documentary programming this past year. In 2016, ABC and ESPN dedicated five nights of programming to the O.J. Simpson murder trial with the Best Documentary Feature Oscar-nominated O.J.: Made in America. In January, the network also broadcast Truth and Lies: The Menendez Brothers.
