Worldwide famous Afgen Genetic Diagnosis Centre continues its activity in Biological Medicine Clinic since 2012. Head of the Afgen Genetic Diagnosis Centre is world wide famous Azerbaijani scientist Afiq Bardali. He has discovered genes of many diseases and received their patents under the name of "Bardali gene".

There are two departments in the center: first molecular-genetic analyzes and second cytogenetic analyzes department.

There are many molecular methods of determination of mutations or micro deletions of genetic disorders. Chromosome analyzes is held by conversional and other methods in a cytogenetic center. Genetic Diagnosis Center is the only center which holds two of these departments.

Patients with β and α thalassemia, Glucose-6 phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, Cystic Fibrosis, Niemann-Pick and etc. were diagnosed who approached Biological Medicine.Also, oncogenes are investigated by sequencing and investigate genes BRXA1 and BRCA2 which cause breast cancer, TP53 which causes many oncological disorders, oncological genes like APC, KRAS which cause large intestine cancer. By these methods gene mutations which cause such diseases are found out and diagnosed before it gives oncological consequences.

Afgen Genetic Diagnosis Centre's molecular genetic department diagnose prenatal diagnosis after hereditary disorder diagnosis.

According to doctor Shirkhan Musayev, main feature and difference of center from other clinics are they use sequence analyzer.
